Maintaining well-being
A HEALTHY YOU
A healthy body is not only being free from diseases. It also means the complete well-being of mental, physical, social, and spiritual well- being. In these tough times, we have all been working on our immunity from having several multivitamins to adding several new additions in our diet. So, today let us talk about ways to boost our well-being holistically.
"We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves."
- Dalai Lama
If we learn to be in harmony with ourselves, the inner positivity will spread radically. Spiritual health is as important as any other health. No matter what you do, it is not going to satisfy until and unless feelings and mind are acknowledged.
These are a few things to balance spiritual health.
1) Catharsis
Do not suppress your feelings. Hiding them will only lead to bottling it up, and eventually, you will be lost in your own thoughts and feelings. Venting out will help you from not having a confused mind, and you can be focused all day.
2) Positive thoughts
Having positive people around will make you feel blessed. If you have any toxic friends, then don't be scared to cut it even if they are your only friends. It will feel as if a burden has been lifted off.
Learn to counterattack your overthinking. Honestly, overthinking will dominate your thoughts, but gradually incorporating positive thoughts to prove your mind wrong will help you grow out of it.
For example
overthinking- "I think I am annoying."
positive counterattack- "No, my friends love and accept me because.."
3) Dance it out!
Lock yourself, play songs, and dance your heart out. No one cares how you dance. We all are too lazy but believe us, this activity is worth it!
Talking about physical health, it is believed eating healthy means not enjoying your meals and going against your taste buds. Well, we do have “Tasty Immunity Boosters” too.
1. Dark chocolate
Yes, you read it right. Dark chocolate contains an antioxidant called theobromine, which helps to boost the immune system by protecting the body’s cells from free radicals. Free radicals are basically molecules that the body will produce when it breaks down food into simpler forms or comes into contact with pollutants. Free radicals can damage the body’s cells and may contribute to disease.
2. Prebiotic Foods
Prebiotic foods — including chia seeds, barley, potato, flax seeds, bananas, garlic, apples, oats, kiwi — promote the growth of good bacteria in the gut and help with digestive problems. It even helps build a strong immune system. Add on a couple of chopped fruits to make it even more tempting.
3.Raw Honey
A spoon of honey could also cater to your sweet tooth and also help with your immunity.
Quarantine has been hard for most of us and it is important we look after ourselves. These steps could help you feel more positive. We hope we helped you with our ideas.
